Prayer for Choosing a State of Life

From all eternity, O Lord, You planned my very existence and my destiny. You wrapped me in Your love in baptism and gave me the Faith to lead me to an eternal life of happiness with You. You have showered me with Your graces and You have been always ready with Your mercy and forgiveness when I have fallen. Now I beg You for the light I so earnestly need that I may find the way of life in which lies the best fulfillment of Your will. Whatever state this may be, give me the grace necessary to embrace it with love of Your holy will, as devotedly as Your Blessed Mother did Your will. I offer myself to You now, trusting in Your wisdom and love to direct me in working out my salvation and in helping others to know and come close to You, so that I may find my reward in union with You for ever and ever.

Prayer for Purity

O Jesus, Son of the living God, brightness of eternal light, Who from all eternity wast begotten most pure in the bosom of the Eternal Father, and Who in time didst will to be born of a most pure and immaculate Virgin, I Thy creature, full of infirmity, beg of Thee, with all my heart, to preserve me pure in mind and body; and do Thou cause to be renewed most abundantly in the holy Church the virtue of Holy Purity for Thy greater glory and the salvation of the souls Thou hast redeemed.

In Times of Grief

Prayer For The Fallen Coal Miners

Grief is a fact of life, dear friend,

That we all have to meet it times,

It's not easy to accept it,

But we must , though it seems a crime.

We can't see God in any place,

But I assure you he is there.

We hold just some of the pieces

Of life's puzzle , so persevere --

God holds all the missing pieces

And in time they will be placed

In your life's picture puzzle --

Then your sorrow will be erased .

Lean heavily upon our lord ,

For he is always very near ,

He's beside you in times of stress ,

And in times of grief and fear.

Just pray to him for acceptance

Of the vacuum death has caused ,

The we'll give you tolerance ,

he will pull you from the jaws .

Of sorrow that's too hard to bear ,

For he understands humanity .

He'll help you carry your despair

Until all souls will be set free .

Prayer:

My heart is very heavy, lord ,

My burden is too hard to bear,

Take my cross for a little while,

And tell me that you care.

Psalm 102:

Hear my prayer, the lord ;

Let my cry come to thee!

Do not hide thy face from me

In the day of my distress!

incline thy ear to me;

Answer me speedily on the day when I call !

Psalm 4:

When I call , answer me , O my good God,

You who relieve me when I am in distress;

Have pity on me, and hear my prayer!

May our Lord comfort the bereaved in their time of need.
