The Apostles Creed

We believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ,
His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell;
the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

Holy Michael,
the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God cast into hell Satan
and all the evil spirits who wander through
the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Novena Prayer in Honor of St. Catherine of Siena

St Catherine of Siena Doctor of The Church-Mystic and Stigmatist

Heavenly Father, your glory is in your saints. We praise your glory in the life of the admirable St. Catherine of Siena, virgin and doctor of the Church. Her whole life was a noble sacrifice inspired by an ardent love of Jesus, your unblemished Lamb. In troubled times she strenuously upheld the rights of His beloved spouse, The Church. Father, honour her merits and hear her prayers for each of us, and for our whole parish family dedicated to her. Help us to pass unscathed through the corruption of this world, and to remain unshakably faithful to the church in word, deed, and example. Help us always to see in the Vicar of Christ an anchor in the storms of life, and a beacon of light to the harbour of your Love, in this dark night of your times and men's souls. Grant also to each of us our special petition . . . (pause to pray for your own intentions). We ask this through Jesus, your Son, in the bond of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

St. Catherine of Siena, Pray for us.

Peace of Christ to ALL

Prayer to Saint Justin Martyr

O God who revealed to Saint Justin
in the sufferings of the Cross,
the great wisdom of Jesus Christ,
grant that through the pleadings
of Your Martyr and our Patron
we may overcome the many errors
that surround us and that our faith
may grow ever stronger.

In deep humility we pray O Lord for
the strength to imitate Saint Justin in
his constant efforts to make known
the riches of the Faith to his fellowmen.
Grant us the grace to be ever mindful
of the many blessings we have received from You.
Through Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

A Prayer To St. Mariana de Jesus

Blessed St. Mariana de Jesus, Lily of Quito, thou didst live a most innocent, pure and radiant life in this world by constant prayer and penance, by faithful love to God and by serving the weak and less fortunate men. Intercede for us that God may grant us the grace to imitate your virtues in order that we may persevere in the way of the Gospel and join thee in Eternity forever. Amen

Prayer to St John Bosco

O God, Who didst raise up Saint John, Thy Confessor, to be the father and the teacher of the youth, and Who by him, with the help of the Virgin Mary, didst promote new families in Thy Church: grant, we beseech Thee, that inflamed by the same fire of love, we may win souls and serve Thee alone. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen.

Prayers to Saint Andrew

First Prayer:

O Glorious Saint Andrew,
you were the first to recognize
and follow the Lamb of God.
With your friend Saint John
you remained with Jesus for that first day,
for your entire life,
and now throughout eternity.
As you led your brother Saint Peter to Christ
and many others after him,
draw us also to him.
Teach us to lead others to Christ
solely out of love for him
and dedication in his service.
Help us to learn the lesson of the Cross
and to carry our daily crosses without
complaint so that they may carry us to Jesus.
Amen
Second Prayer:
Brother of Simon Peter,
you heard John the Baptist say:
"Behold the Lamb of God,"
and yoou chose to follow Jesus.
Leaving your nets, you became
a successful fisher of souls.
Lover of the Crucified Christ,
you too were crucified like him.
Teach us to live and suffer for him
and to win many souls for Christ.
Amen

Catholic Evening Prayers

Evening Prayer to the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit, most merciful Comforter: You proceed from the Father in a manner beyond our understanding. Come, I beseech You, and take up your abode in my heart. Purify and cleanse me from all sin, and sanctify my soul. Cleanse it from every impurity, water its dryness, melt its coldness, and save it from its sinful ways. Make me truly humble and resigned, that I may be pleasing to You, and that You might abide with me forever. Most Blessed Light, most Amiable Light, enlighten me. O Rapturous Joy of Paradise, Fount of Purest Delight, My God, give yourself to me and kindle in my innermost soul the fire of Your love. My Lord, instruct, direct, and defend me in all things. Give me strength against all immoderate fears and against despondency. Bestow upon me a true faith, a firm hope, and a sincere and a perfect love. Grant that I always do Thy Most Gracious Will.

Amen.

(By Saint Antiochus)

Evening Prayer to the Son of God

O Only-Begotten Word of the Father, Jesus Christ, who alone are perfect: according to the greatness of your mercy, do not abandon me, your servant, but ever rest in my heart. Sweet Jesus, Good Shepherd of Your flock, deliver me from the attacks of The Enemy. Do not allow me to become the prey of Satan's evil intent, even though I have within me the seed of eternal damnation. Instead, O Lord Jesus Christ, Adorable God, Holy King, while I sleep, protect me by Your Holy spirit, through Whom You sanctified Your Apostles. Enlighten my mind by the light of the Holy Gospel, my soul by the love of Your Cross, my heart by the purity of Your teaching. Protect my body by Your sacred passion, my senses by Your humility, and awaken me in due time for Your glorification. For You, above all, are adorable, together with Your eternal Father, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever.

Amen.

(By Saint Antiochus)

Evening Prayer to God the Father

O eternal God and Ruler of all creation, You have allowed me to reach this hour. Forgive the sins I have committed this day by word, deed or thought. Purify me, O Lord, from every spiritual and physical stain. Grant that I may rise from this sleep to glorify You by my deeds throughout my entire lifetime, and that I be victorious over every spiritual and physical enemy. Deliver me, O Lord, from all vain thoughts and from evil desires, for yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever.

Amen.

Prayer To Our Holy Mother

Hail and praise be unto thee, Mary, whom God Almighty has exalted above all of his other servants!! God has entrusted us unto your care and graciously grants any request that you make of Him on our behalf, if it is in accordance with His Divine Will. Our hearts burn with zeal as we honor you our Mother. We love you as a child loves a mother and you love us as mother loves her children. Please guide us, your little ones, to our Eternal and Almighty Father God through our prayers and through your love for us. Many in this world may slander and degrade you while still claiming to exalt God, please forgive them and pray for them for they may dishearten your devoted children. May we be made worthy of the promises of Christ through your prayers. You love us so freely and we are so unworthy of it. You love us because God and Christ loved us first. Mary, mother, I love you. Amen.

Prayer to the Trinity

Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity

O my God, Trinity whom I adore; help me to forget myself entirely that I may be established in You as still and as peaceful as if my soul were already in eternity. May nothing trouble my peace or make me leave You, O my Unchanging One, but may each minute carry me further into the depths of Your mystery. Give peace to my soul; make it Your heaven, Your beloved dwelling and Your resting place. May I never leave You there alone but be wholly present, my faith wholly vigilant, wholly adoring, and wholly surrendered to Your creative Action.

O my beloved Christ, crucified by love, I wish to be a bride for Your Heart; I wish to cover You with glory; I wish to love You...even unto death! But I feel my weakness, and I ask You to "clothe me with Yourself," to identify my soul with all the movements of Your Soul, to overwhelm me, to possess me, to substitute yourself for me that my life may be but a radiance of Your Life. Come into me as Adorer, as Restorer, as Savior.

O Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend my life in listening to You, to become wholly teachable that I may learn all from You. Then, through all nights, all voids, all helplessness, I want to gaze on You always and remain in Your great light. O my beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may not withdraw from Your radiance.

O consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, "come upon me," and create in my soul a kind of incarnation of the Word: that I may be another humanity for Him in which He can renew His whole Mystery. And You, O Father, bend lovingly over Your poor little crature; "cover her with Your shadow," seeing in her only the "Beloved in whom You are well pleased."

O my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose myself, I surrender myself to You as Your prey. Bury Yourself in me that I may bury myself in You until I depart to contemplate in Your light the abyss of Your greatness.

Prayer of Saint Ignatius of Antioch

Prayer for Martyrdom of Saint of Ignatius of Antioch

I am the wheat of God, and am ground by the teeth of the wild beasts, that I may be found the pure bread of God.... I long after the Lord, the Son of the true God and Father, Jesus Christ. Him I seek, who died for us and rose again.... I am eager to die for the sake of Christ. My love has been crucified, and there is no fire in me that loves anything. But there is living water springing up in me, and it says to me inwardly: Come to the Father.

Prayer of Saint Bernadette

Prayer of Saint Bernadette

"Let the crucifix be not only in my eyes and on my breast, but in my heart.O Jesus! Release all my affections and draw them upwards. Let my crucified heart sink forever into Thine and bury itself in the mysterious wound made by the entry of the lance."

Prayer to St. Bernadette

O Saint Bernadette, who, as a meek and pure child, did eighteen times at Lourdes contemplate the beauty of the Immaculate Mother of God and received her messages, and who afterwards wished to hide yourself from the world in the convent of Nevers, and to offer thyself there as a victim for the conversion of sinners, obtain for us the grace of purity, simplicity and mortification that we also may attain to the vision of God and of Mary in Heaven. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Teresa of the Andes

Prayer to St Teresa of the Andes

St Teresa of the Andes, under Mary's care, you became a young woman in love with Jesus Christ. You are a model of holiness and a way of perfection for the Church.
You knew how to laugh, to love, to play and to serve. You were mighty in accepting sorrows and generous in your love.

You knew how to contemplate God in the simple things of life.

Show us the Father's love so that we might live joyfully in friendship and with gentleness in our family.

Help those who are weak and sad so that the Holy Spirit may awaken hope in them.

Intercede for us - and for the world - pleading for love and peace.

St Teresa of Los Andes, beloved daughter of the Church, religious sister of Carmel, friend of young and old, and servant of the poor, pray for us each day. Amen.

Prayer to Jesus

Lord Jesus, you chose St Teresa of Los Andes to show us the joy of knowing and loving you. She left us a message of love, self-sacrifice and humility. She now continues from heaven the work begun on earth, of interceding for family unity, for priestly and religious vocations, for those who are in sorrow and need, and for the conversion of inactive and lukewarm Catholics.
Lord, we thank you for St Teresa of Los Andes.

May she who proclaimed God is infinite joy be a model for young and old, and strengthen us in faith, hope and love. May she help to restore to the family of the faith those who have lost their way, especially those for whom we now pray.... Amen

The Holy Rosary*

Start by making the sign of the Cross:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Then recite the Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Amen.

Then say 1 "Our Father", 3 "Hail Mary's" for the virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity; and then 1 "Glory Be":

OUR FATHER, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

HAIL MARY, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death.
Amen.

GLORY BE to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

The Rosary is divided into three parts, each having five mysteries. While meditating on the Mysteries, recite:

1 "Our Father"
10 "Hail Mary's" and
1 "Glory Be"
for each Mystery.

After each Mystery the "Fatima Prayer" is said:

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fire of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy.
Amen

All together this makes up one decade.
After the completion of the five mysteries (five decades), the "Hail Holy Queen" is said :

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Amen

Prayer Against Attacks On Faith

O Holy Spirit,
Saint David received a vision from Jesus that sent him to Jerusalem where anti-Christian sentiment was strong.
By relying on You, he preached so powerfully that he converted many who had been attacking the Faith.
I seek his intercession for the people in my life who fight against Christian values and religion.
Give me the right words, Holy Spirit, when I speak to them.
Send into their lives more faith-filled Christians who will guide them to You.
Help them get in touch with their inner desire to believe in God’s love and to belong to Christ’s Body, the Church.
Saint David, pray for us.
Amen.

Our Lady of La Salette Pray For Us

Remember, Our Lady of La Salette, true Mother of Sorrows, the tears you shed for me on Calvary. Remember also the care you have always taken to keep me faithful to Christ, your Son. After having done so much for your child, you will not abandon me. Inspired by this comforting thought, I come to cast myself at your feet in spite of my unfaithfulness and ingratitude. Do not reject my prayers, O Merciful Virgin, but intercede for my conversion, obtain for me the grace to love Jesus above all things, and to comfort you by a holy life, that I may one day see you in Heaven.
AMEN.
Peace of Christ to you ALL

Consecration To The Holy Family

O Jesus, our most loving Redeemer, who having come to enlighten the world with Thy teaching and example, didst will to pass the greater part of Thy life in humility and subjection to Mary and Joseph in the poor home of Nazareth, thus sanctifying the Family that was to be an example for all Christian families, graciously receive our family as it dedicates and consecrates itself to Thee this day. Do Thou protect us, guard us and establish amongst us Thy holy fear, true peace and concord in Christian love: in order that by living according to the divine pattern of Thy family we may be able, all of us without exception, to attain to eternal happiness.
Mary, dear Mother of Jesus and Mother of us, by the kindly intercession make this our humble offering acceptable in the sight of Jesus, and obtain for us His graces and blessings.
O Saint Joseph, most holy Guardian of Jesus and Mary, help us by thy prayers in all our spiritual and temporal needs; that so we may be enabled to praise our divine Savior Jesus, together with Mary and thee, for all eternity.
Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be three times. Amen.

Prayer To St. Joachim and St. Anne

PRAYER TO ST. ANNE & ST. JOACHIM

Saints Anne and Joachim, we bless you for your great faith and love as parents. Your respect and reverence for the sacredness of human life made you the parents of Mary, Mother of the Lord. Through your intercession, we ask God to grant young people today that same reverence for the gift of new life. May they accept, cherish, and nourish life from the very moment of conception. Grant to us as a nation a renewed reverence for every human life. As Mary cherished her Child from the womb even to the tomb, so may we see in every person the very image of God. Great Saints Anne and Joachim, we ask this grace in the name of Mary’s Son, Jesus the Lord. Amen.

John 15:12-17

This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
You are My friends, if you do the things that I command you.
I will not now call you servants: for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doth. But I have called you friends. Because all things, whatsoever I have heard of My Father, I have made known to you.
You have not chosen Me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you.
These things I command you, that you love one another.

A Prayer for Abortion Victims

Prayer for all victims of abortion. May those involved in abortions be reconciled to God and may the innocent dead be saved.

Holy Mother of God and of the Church, our Lady of Guadalupe, you were chosen by the Father for the Son through the Holy Spirit.

You are the Woman clothed with the sun who labors to give birth to Christ while Satan, the Red Dragon, waits to voraciously devour your child.

So too did Herod seek to destroy your Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and massacred many innocent children in the process. So today does abortion killing many innocent unborn children and exploiting many mothers in its attack upon human life and upon the Church, the Body of Christ.

Mother of the Innocents, we praise God in you for His gifts to you of your Immaculate Conception, your freedom from actual sin; your fullness of grace, your Motherhood of God and the Church, your Perpetual Virginity and your Assumption in body and soul into heaven.

O Help of Christians, we beg you to protect all mothers of the unborn and the children within their wombs. We plead with you for your help to end the holocaust of abortion. Melt hearts so that life may be revered!

Holy Mother, we pray to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart for all mothers and all unborn children that they may have life here on earth and by the most Precious Blood shed by your Son that they may have eternal life with Him in heaven. We also pray to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart for all abortionists and all abortion supporters that they may be converted and accept your Son, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior. Defend all of your children in the battle against Satan and all of the evil spirits in this present darkness.

We desire that the innocent unborn children who die without Baptism should be baptized and saved. We ask that you obtain this grace for them and repentance, reconciliation and pardon from God for their parents and their killers.

Let there be revealed, once more, in the history of the world the infinite power of merciful love. May it put an end to evil. May it transform consciences. May your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of hope. May Christ the King reign over us, our families, cities, states, nations and the whole of humanity.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, hear our pleas and accept this cry from our hearts!

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Protectress of the Unborn, Pray for us!
Psalm 139:13
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my
mother's womb."

Prayer to St. Peregrine Laziosi- Patron of Cancer Patients

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to The source of all grace when the power of man could do no more.
You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction.
Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession,
we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity,
a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.

Novena to Saint Jude

Novena* to Saint Jude

Come to my aid, O God.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Almighty God, Father of mercies
and giver of all good gifts,
I come before you to honor you in your
saints, and ask their help in my many needs.
You promised that those who ask, would receive,
those who seek, would find, those who knock, would
have doors opened to them.
Hear the prayers of your church, grant my requests,
and pardon my sins.
Amen

Good St. Jude, chose by Jesus as a messenger of His kingdom,
and bearer of God's power,
I entrust myself to your care
and place in your hands this request of mine (make your request)
You are a witness that nothing is impossible with God and
that all will be well by God's grace.
Pray that I may have a simple faith
and strong hope to believe and trust in God,
my Master, who makes all things possible and
brings all things to good.
Amen

Day 1
Lord Jesus Christ,
you promised that mountains would move for someone with faith
the size of a mustard seed. Plant the seed of faith in my
heart and help me believe in the power of your promises.

Day 2
Lord Jesus Christ,
You taught that God who cares for the lilies of the field
and the birds of the air, also cares for those of little faith.
Lord, come and care for me.

Day 3
Lord Jesus Christ,
In the storm at sea you told you disciples not to fear
but to believe in your power to calm the winds and the sea.
Speak to my troubled spirit, and calm my fears.

Day 4
Lord Jesus Christ,
no one comes to you, even those desperate and poor,
whom you do not welcome and refresh,
I come tired and burdened, make my spirit light.

Day 5
Lord Jesus Christ,
you listen to our prayers, and grant what we ask.
Hear my prayers and listen to my voice,
for I am in need.

Day 6
Lord Jesus Christ,
in the Garden of Gethsemane you prayed in fear and sorrow.
Turn to me when I am afraid, and give me strength to bear
my cross.

Day 7
Lord Jesus Christ,
when you died on the cross, all seemed lost and gone,
yet you came to life again.
When all seems lost for me, bring me life again,
O Lord.

Day 8
Lord Jesus Christ,
you rose from the dead and brought life to all creation.
I hope in your promise of life.
Bring me the joy of your resurrection.

Day 9
Lord Jesus Christ,
you prepare a place for us in your heavenly kingdom.
Grant me a place at your side and bring us all safely home.

To conclude this novena, say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be.

*NOVENA. Nine days of public or private prayer for some special occasion or intention. Its origin goes back to the nine days that the Disciples and Mary spent together in prayer between Ascension and Pentecost Sunday. Over the centuries many novenas have been highly indulgenced by the Church. In modern times the one before Pentecost was prescribed for parochial churches, (Etym. Latin novem, nine.)
