God of silence,
perhaps what is
mute within us
is merely
your Word
beyond words.
You call forth
this Word
in Jesus,
who loosens
tongues to articulate
the meaning of faithful love.
The light of daily miracles
casts out
the darkness
and celcomes in
the kingdom...
for you join us
in Jesus.
Forgive us
when we resist
your invitation
to accept
the mystery
of your Word.
Enable us to walk
each day
in the shade
of that truth.
Teach us
how to live
with one another.
Do not allow
our lack
of understanding
to be a source
of conflict
but the assurance
of your presence...
a presence
beyond our grasp
yet within our reach.
